WOMEN HOCKEY TEAM AIMS HIGHER RANKING AT WORLD LEVEL



 
 
The senior national women’s hockey team will fly to India on March 2nd to participate in the Second Round of the World Hockey League, which runs from March 7th to 15th.

The team is holding non-residential camping sessions at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey pitch.

Ghana will be seeking to beat off competition from India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, Russia and Thailand to book a place in the semi-final of the World Hockey League in Paris, France.

Technical Committee Chairman of the national women’s hockey side, George Haizel expects a positive display at the 8-team competition to improve Ghana’s ranking from the current 30th spot.

“The purpose of this tournament is to help Ghana improve on its ranking at the world level. We are currently ranked 30th in the world and we think that we need to play more of this tournament so that we can improve on our ranking”
