COACH SELLAS TETETEH HAS DEFENDED THE TEAM'S DECISION TO CAMP IN TURKEY








The Black Satellites is on close to agreeing a pre-tournament friendly match against either Nigeria or Ivory Coast ahead of the 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal.

 Ghana Under-20 side’s proposed test match against the yet-to-confirmed opponent will be played on either February 15th or 18th prior to the team’s departure to Turkey for the pre-tournament camping on February 20.

The Black Satellites will spend 14 days in Antalya preparing for the continental competition under the eagle eyes of Coach Sellas Tetteh and will fly into Dakar on March 5th.

Management Committee Chairman of the Ghana Under-20 team, Wilfred Osei Palmer has defended the reason behind the decision to camp the team in Turkey.

“People will say why Turkey but we chose there because the facilities there are up to the level expected. The serene atmosphere that we want these players to train with has been created with in this Sporting facility in Natalya and so within a matter of 14 days the players should be battle ready for Senegal by the 6th of match for the African Youth Championship”.

Meanwhile, Ghana has been drawn in Group B of the 8-team Africa Youth Championship alongside Mali, Zambia and South Africa.
