Retired Black Stars winger Mohammed Polo is urging the Black Stars players to eschew selfishness in front
of goal with two days during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana must record convincing victories with a high scoring margin to boost their chances of progressing past the group stage with ease.

During the 2014 World Cup, a section of Ghanaian football fans rained heavy criticisms on some Black Stars players including Jordan Ayew and Mubarak Wakaso for failing to provide assists for striker Asamoah Gyan in clear goal-scoring situations during the Group G clash against Germany.

“With Germany, the champions, we could have beaten them if some of the boys were not selfish,” Polo told DailySoccerGhana.com.

“The Black Stars is a team but whether they are playing for themselves is another thing because when you play football and you don’t enjoy playing for your colleague is also a different thing. Anyway, let’s see what happens at the AFCON and I will be following the updates on DailySoccerGhana.com,” he added.
The Black Stars will open their Equatorial Guinea 2015 campaign with a Group C clash against Senegal in Mongomo on Monday.
