Ghana
coach Avram Grant has shut his ears from judgment passed on Black stars striker Jordan Ayew after
Tuesday's third Group C victory over South Africa, at the Estadio De Mongomo.
Ayew,
from the commencement of the tournament has undergone massive pressure from
some Sports pundits and fans over his performance.
After
the 2-1 match, Grant stated clearly in an interview that it was too early for
people to pass judgment on the performance of the players in the competition.
“We
have just played three matches in the competition and I cannot use these
matches to pass any verdict on him.
“He
may end it as one of the best players in the competition if we progress to the
finals. I don’t think it is proper to judge him now," Grant stated.
According
to the Israeli boss, he will make an informed statement on the players only
after the competition.
Speaking
on the match against the Bafana Bafana Squad, the former Chelsea boss explained
that, his team keep improving after each match and was satisfied with the level
of performance they put up against South Africa.
“We
have a very strong team, who are ready to face any opponent and they have
exhibited this in all the matches played so far.
“If
we continue to play like this, I am certain we will progress very far in the
competition.”
Ghana will find out its opponent in the last eight later
