Acting General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr. Samuel Opoku Nti
has refuted speculations in the media that head coach of the club;
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has been sacked, describing the allegation as
unnecessary and unprofessional.
Many supporters of the club had called for the head of the coach
after the Porcupine Warriors lost their week seven league fixture to
AshantiGold SC by 2-1.
The red family had already lost the 6th week encounter against arch
rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by a lone
goal. However, when the Acting General Manager of the club was contacted
amidst the speculations, he unequivocally said it is u true.
Speaking exclusively to Sportscrusader.com,Opoku
Nti said, “This is absolutely untrue and I must say a section of the
fans are only perpetrating this. It is true that supporters are not
happy with the performance of the club in the league after seven matches
but we must not forget the other clubs too are preparing. We have won
the league for three consecutive seasons and every club that plays us
now play above themselves. We also have a couple of new players in the
team so we must relax. As for the sack of Didi Dramani, it is not true”.
The 1982 Afcon winner also added that Didi is currently the best
coach in the country and that the fans must be patient for some time as
things are bound to change soon. “We must not forget that Didi is
currently the best coach in the country and the fans must try to be a
little patient. Things will change soon”, Opoku Nti added.
Asante Kotoko are currently 10th on the 7 week old league table with 8
points out a possible 21 having recorded 2 wins 2 draws and 3 losses.
