GHANA FEDERATION OF DISABLED GO FOR CONGRESS WITHOUT A CONSTITUTION

Controversy has stirred up at the Ghana Federation of Disabled as they prepare for their annual congress on March 29, 2015.This is as a result of the unavailability of a constitution to regulate the elections, which some candidates believe has bred favoritism and incompetency in the dealings of some of the authorities.
Ghana Federation of the Disabled  is a national umbrella organization of person with disabilities with the Ghana Association of the Blind, Ghana Association of the Deaf and the Ghana Association of the Physical disabled being the founding members. The Federation has been without a Constitution since last year and this was due to an agreement made by the executives to allow their previous constitution undergo an amendment .
Mr . John Kwateng , a disqualified presidential candidates has blamed the current situation at the Federation on the active president, Yaw Debrah whom according to him has taken advantage of the unavailability of the constitution to manipulate the election procedure to favor himself.
Kwateng is unhappy about the reason of his disqualification and has threatened to take the Federation to court if they do not revisit his case and allow him to contest.
“I will take them to court if they do not allow me to contest. How can we go for an election without a constitution, and since there is none some have taken advantage of the situation to do things to suit themselves. According to the nomination form, we were asked t5o bring three members , they didn't specify if ut should come from your association or not. I brought a lady from my association (physically disabled) and now the Executive Director is telling me my nomination can not be approved. The active president is behind all this and its not fair, even if we do not have a constitution we should  be fair and justices in our dealing.
