The Ghanaian boxing referee, Roger Barnor will leave for Algeria on Tuesday to officiate in the Interim WBO Welterweight Youth Championship bout between Algerian Djamel Dahour and Mexican boxer Daniel Valenzanel scheduled for December 19 This will be the first international fight referee Barnor will handle since September 2013 when the Ghana Boxing Authority lifted the three-man ban imposed on him for bias officiating in a fight between Emmanuel Tagoe and Fillipino Ronald Pontillas. Roger Barnor has attributed his latest opportunity by the World Boxing Council to his hard work and dedication.
" Actually it was prior to the game which really opens doors for officials like me who has been dedicated to the game for so long. so it hasn't come as a surprise to me because it is one of my hard work and dedication to the game that has earned me this opposition. there are thousands officials who are out there fighting for this position but my hard work made me unique over them"
