GFA can’t hold congress-King Faisal’s lawyer affirms

Lawyer Egbert Faibille

Legal representative of King Faisal Football Club, lawyer Egbert Faibille has insisted the Ghana Football Association cannot hold its annual congress on December 30 as scheduled.
The Nations Football governing body on Tuesday announced it will hold its annual congress at the Ghanaman Soccer center of Excellence which will usher the commencement of the Ghana Premier League slated to begin on January 7, 2015.
But Lawyer Faibille, who is the attorney to King Faisal in the on-going lawsuit against the Ghana Football Association, has insisted his team will file in a protest and charge the FA for contempt should they hold the congress as planned.
“It will be contempt to the court if the Ghana Football Association goes on with the congress,” Lawyer Faibille told Happy Fm in an interview.
“The case is still in court and matters has to be resolved before any another decision”.
“I heard the news yesterday and we have decided to file in a complaint in other to prevent the congress till we have finally settled cases”.
According to the Ghana Football Association, its legal body has granted them the permission to hold the congress on Tuesday December 30 as programmed.
