The Ghana Hockey Association committee has advanced an
amount of GHC 9000 to the Electricity Company of Ghana for
the restoration of power at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey stadium.
The
ECG cut off power supply to the National Hockey stadium last Thursday due to unpaid
bills running into a debt of GHC150, 000 over last four years.
General Secretary of the Ghana Hockey
Association, Kenz Mensah tells Starr FM Sports that the committee has entered
into an agreement with Electricity Company of Ghana on how to pay their
remaining debt.
" Right now, honestly we don't have that kind of money but we have gone into an agreement with ECG which demands that every month we at least make an effort to pay an amount of money to them and in return they will give our power on.
immediately we have to pay GHC9,000 monthly but if we able to cut down our cost to about GHC3,000 or GHC4000 we will not have to pay GHC9000 a month."
