The Ghana FA Appeals Committee has set aside the ruling of the
Disciplinary Committee that ordered for Berekum Chelsea to be docked 18 points
over indebtedness to the West Africa Football Academy.
Chelsea was sanctioned by the FA’s Disciplinary Committee for
their failure to pay the West Africa Football Academy a fee of US$59,722 for
the transfer of Solomon Asante to TP Mazembe in 2013.
Berekum Chelsea General Manager Ralph Gyambrah has revealed that
the Blues have agreed a payment plan with WAFA and are close to completing the
payment to the Sogakope based club.
All clubs that benefited points from the Disciplinary Committee
ruling will lose their points to Berekum Chelsea, leaving the Blues at the sixth
position with 19 points after 13 match-days.
