GFA Rejects Hearts’ Request For Ashgold Match Reschedule


Hearts of Oak’s request to reschedule their midweek Ghana Premier League clash with AshantiGold has been turned down by the Ghana FA.

The Phobians were seeking a postponement of the match-day 15 fixture to avoid fatigue from creeping into the team, since Herbert Addo’s lads would have to return from Obuasi to face AC Djoliba in the CAF Confederations Cup in Accra on Sunday.
The FA’s decision means Hearts will have only Friday and Saturday to recover from their away test against the Miners before facing their Malian counterparts.Hearts of Oak have a 2-1 lead from the first leg of the continental tie against AC Djoliba and are eager to avoid defeat to progress to the play-off round of the


NETBALL HAS BEEN RULED OUT IN THE ALL AFRICA GAMES




Ghana will not present Netball as one of the disciplines at the upcoming Al Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville. This is because the host nation lack the necessary facility to accommodate the sport. The 11th edition of the All African Games is scheduled to take place in Congo, Brazzaville on September 4 – 19. The multi-discipline competition will witness 54 African countries participating in 22 various sporting activities. The host country has cut down the number of the activities to engage in the biennial event due to the lack of facilities to serve some of the Sporting disciplines.

HEARTS OF OAK PAYS GHC60,000 TO RENEW CONTRACT WITH GILBERT FIAMENYO




Accra Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has agreed a new contract with the club until June 2017. 
The 23 year Old who joined Hearts of Oak from Heart of Lions in 2012 has scored 8 goals in the Premier League and trail Medeama’s Nathaniel Asamoah on the top scorers chat. 
Fiamenyo’s contract with Hearts was set to expire at the end of this season but the heroics in the CAF Confederations Cup and the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League has pushed the two parties to renew their marriage. 
Hearts of Oak is said to have cough out an amount of 60,000 Cedis. The bulky striker who was part of the 2011 All Africa Games squad that won Gold at the Maputo games also scored two goals in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup.

Berekum Chelsea wins case against GFA DC ruling, reclaim 19 points

The Ghana FA Appeals Committee has set aside the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee that ordered for Berekum Chelsea to be docked 18 points over indebtedness to the West Africa Football Academy.

Chelsea was sanctioned by the FA’s Disciplinary Committee for their failure to pay the West Africa Football Academy a fee of US$59,722 for the transfer of Solomon Asante to TP Mazembe in 2013.

Berekum Chelsea General Manager Ralph Gyambrah has revealed that the Blues have agreed a payment plan with WAFA and are close to completing the payment to the Sogakope based club.

All clubs that benefited points from the Disciplinary Committee ruling will lose their points to Berekum Chelsea, leaving the Blues at the sixth position with 19 points after 13 match-days.

GIDEON QUARTEY-"LESSER KNOWN" SPORTS SHOULD LAY DOWN THEIR TOOLS

The former Vice president of Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, Gideon Quartey expects the nation’s least financed Sporting disciplines to put a temporary hold on running their respective associations since government is unready to support their activities. Over the last three years, 36 sports Associations under the National Sports Authority have not received any funding from the Budgetary allocation for Sports in the country. 
Gideon Quartey believes the time has come for all sporting associations to halt their operations for a while.

“Since we are not getting the necessary support from government, I think we the lesser known sports disciplines should all pause. 

We shouldn’t compete in any international competitions. Because the Government is not feeding us with the necessary tools to attend that international competitions and even the training aspect we lack behind”  

HEARTS DEFENDER ANDOH NOT WORRIED ABOUT HOT WEATHER IN MALI AHEAD OF DJOLIBA CLASH


10947168_632147316916026_8813522321739667705_nHearts of Oak defender Kweku Andoh is unperturbed about hot weather conditions that greeted the 18 Phobian players upon arrival in Bamako on Wednesday afternoon, stating that it will not reduce the Rainbow club’s chances of recording a favorable result against Djoliba AC in the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday.
According to a current meteorology report, Bamako has a weather of between of 24 and 41 degrees Celsius, with widespread dust.
This is slightly hotter than the weather in Accra which is between 28 and 32 degree Celsius which the hearts players are used to playing in.
Hearts need a win at the Stade Modibo Keita on Friday to make the reverse fixture against Djoliba in Accra on May 3. Kweku Andoh claims He and his team-mates will not allow the issues of an inclement weather affect their performance against the Malian outfit.

GAME BOY FIT TO FACE FILIPINO BOXER ON APRIL 24




CEO of Baby Jet Promotions, Samuel Anim Addo has revealed to Starr FM Sports that doctors has declared  their boxer Emmanuel “the Game Boy” Tagoe fit to return the ring and face Joebert Delos Reyes on April 24.

The WBA international Lightweight Championship contest between the Ghanaian and Filipino Boxer was originally fixed for March 27 but had to be postponed because Game boy had fallen ill.

PALMER WORRIED ABOUT GODFRED DONSAH AHEAD OF U-20 World Cup





Chairman of the Black Satellite management committee, Wilfred Osei Kwaku has expressed worry about the recent injuries and illness that have plagued the career of Cagliari’s Star Midfielder Godfred Donsah ahead of the 2015 World Youth Championship in New Zealand.

The 18-year has been absent from Cagliari’s Squad for Serie A games for two weeks now due to a leg bruise and subsequent fever after he was listed in Ghana’s provisional Squad for the global soccer Championship.

 Though the ex-Palermo youngster is yet reveal his readiness to join the Satellite for the U-20 World Cup, Wilfred Osei Palmer insists Ghana is keenly monitory the recovery of Godfred Donsah

GHALCA to meet members on April 16 over Raji and Amoako’s alleged financial malfeasance




The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) will organize an Emergency General Assembly on Thursday April 16 to brief its members about an alleged misconduct of the club welfare body’s two Executives, celosports can confirm.

Chairman Alhaji Ali Raji and Treasurer George Amoako are reported to have gone for a loan of about 9,000 dollars from the Ghana Football to pay off debt owed to Enugu Rangers.
The Nigerian club is owed by the country following their participation in the GHALCA organized 2013 President Cup.

The duo who promised to refund the money upon interrogation has failed to do so and currently face impeachment from the membership.

THREE FORIEGN PLAYERS JOIN BLACK METEORS FOR THE ALL AFRICAN GAMES QUALIFIER





Three Foreign based players have confirmed their availability for this weekends All Africa Games final round 2nd leg qualifier against Mozambique Celosports can exclusively confirm. Italy based duo Yusif Rahman Chibsah and Saed Mohammed a well as Egypt based Peter Oduro are expected in Accra tomorrow to join their local colleagues for the final phase of preparation for the Clash. The Black Meteors suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mozambique during the first leg of the qualifier in Maputo three weeks ago and the team will hope to overturn that score line. Though invitations were extended to six players only three have accepted to honour the invite according to Black Meteors Coach, Malik Jabir. 

Black Queens flight arrangement for Harare trip changes

The Black Queens will leave for Harare on Tuesday night ahead of their All Africa Games qualifier against Zimbabwe after the team’s flight arrangement changed, Dailysoccerghana.com can confirm.

The Queens contingent comprising 18 players, 8 technical team members and 2 management team members will leave Accra at 10.00pm local time via a Kenya Airways flight.

No reason was given for the decision to change the original flight, that was supposed to have departed Accra at 1.00pm local time.

Ghana have a 2-1 advantage from the first leg and must avoid a defeat to book a place at the Brazaville 2015 All Africa Games.

Masud Dramani in talks with Hearts of Oak to take over from Herbert Addo

Ex-Asante Kotoko trainer Masud Dramani is in talks with Hearts of Oak to take over as Head Coach of the club, DailySoccerGhana.com can exclusively confirm.

The former Black Maidens trainer is currently in Tamale but will return to Accra next week to meet the Phobians Executive Board Chairman Togbui Afede XVI.

The Rainbow club is expected to promote current Head Coach Herbert Addo to the role of Technical Advisor once Masud Dramani’s appointment is finalized.

The CAF Technical Instructor has not coached since he was relieved of his job at Asante Kotoko on February 16.
Under Coach Herbert Addo, Hearts of Oak is occupying the 14th position on the Premier League table with 15 points from 12 games.

THEODOSIA OKOH HOCKEY STADIUM POWER RESTORED





 

The Ghana Hockey Association committee has advanced an amount of GHC 9000 to the Electricity Company of Ghana for the restoration of power at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey stadium.  

The ECG cut off power supply to the National Hockey stadium last Thursday due to unpaid bills running into a debt of GHC150, 000 over last four years.   

General Secretary of the Ghana Hockey Association, Kenz Mensah tells Starr FM Sports that the committee has entered into an agreement with Electricity Company of Ghana on how to pay their remaining debt.


" Right now, honestly we don't have that kind of money but we have gone into an agreement with ECG which demands that every month we at least make an effort to pay an amount of money to them and in return they will give our power on.

 immediately we have to pay GHC9,000 monthly but if we able to cut down our cost to about GHC3,000 or GHC4000 we will not have to pay GHC9000 a month."
