GFA Rejects Hearts’ Request For Ashgold Match Reschedule

Hearts of Oak’s request to reschedule their midweek Ghana Premier League clash with AshantiGold has been turned down by the Ghana FA.

The Phobians were seeking a postponement of the match-day 15 fixture to avoid fatigue from creeping into the team, since Herbert Addo’s lads would have to return from Obuasi to face AC Djoliba in the CAF Confederations Cup in Accra on Sunday.

The FA’s decision means Hearts will have only Friday and Saturday to recover from their away test against the Miners before facing their Malian counterparts.Hearts of Oak have a 2-1 lead from the first leg of the continental tie against AC Djoliba and are eager to avoid defeat to progress to the play-off round of the

NETBALL HAS BEEN RULED OUT IN THE ALL AFRICA GAMES

Ghana will not present Netball as one of the disciplines at the upcoming Al Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville. This is because the host nation lack the necessary facility to accommodate the sport. The 11^th edition of the All African Games is scheduled to take place in Congo, Brazzaville on September 4 – 19. The multi-discipline competition will witness 54 African countries participating in 22 various sporting activities. The host country has cut down the number of the activities to engage in the biennial event due to the lack of facilities to serve some of the Sporting disciplines.

HEARTS OF OAK PAYS GHC60,000 TO RENEW CONTRACT WITH GILBERT FIAMENYO

Accra Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has agreed a new contract with the club until June 2017. 

The 23 year Old who joined Hearts of Oak from Heart of Lions in 2012 has scored 8 goals in the Premier League and trail Medeama’s Nathaniel Asamoah on the top scorers chat. 

Fiamenyo’s contract with Hearts was set to expire at the end of this season but the heroics in the CAF Confederations Cup and the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League has pushed the two parties to renew their marriage. 

Hearts of Oak is said to have cough out an amount of 60,000 Cedis. The bulky striker who was part of the 2011 All Africa Games squad that won Gold at the Maputo games also scored two goals in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup.

Berekum Chelsea wins case against GFA DC ruling, reclaim 19 points

The Ghana FA Appeals Committee has set aside the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee that ordered for Berekum Chelsea to be docked 18 points over indebtedness to the West Africa Football Academy.

Chelsea was sanctioned by the FA’s Disciplinary Committee for their failure to pay the West Africa Football Academy a fee of US$59,722 for the transfer of Solomon Asante to TP Mazembe in 2013.

Berekum Chelsea General Manager Ralph Gyambrah has revealed that the Blues have agreed a payment plan with WAFA and are close to completing the payment to the Sogakope based club.

All clubs that benefited points from the Disciplinary Committee ruling will lose their points to Berekum Chelsea, leaving the Blues at the sixth position with 19 points after 13 match-days. 

GIDEON QUARTEY-"LESSER KNOWN" SPORTS SHOULD LAY DOWN THEIR TOOLS

The former Vice president of Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, Gideon Quartey expects the nation’s least financed Sporting disciplines to put a temporary hold on running their respective associations since government is unready to support their activities. Over the last three years, 36 sports Associations under the National Sports Authority have not received any funding from the Budgetary allocation for Sports in the country. 

Gideon Quartey believes the time has come for all sporting associations to halt their operations for a while.

“Since we are not getting the necessary support from government, I think we the lesser known sports disciplines should all pause. 

We shouldn’t compete in any international competitions. Because the Government is not feeding us with the necessary tools to attend that international competitions and even the training aspect we lack behind”  

HEARTS DEFENDER ANDOH NOT WORRIED ABOUT HOT WEATHER IN MALI AHEAD OF DJOLIBA CLASH

Hearts of Oak defender Kweku Andoh is unperturbed about hot weather conditions that greeted the 18 Phobian players upon arrival in Bamako on Wednesday afternoon, stating that it will not reduce the Rainbow club’s chances of recording a favorable result against Djoliba AC in the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday.

According to a current meteorology report, Bamako has a weather of between of 24 and 41 degrees Celsius, with widespread dust.

This is slightly hotter than the weather in Accra which is between 28 and 32 degree Celsius which the hearts players are used to playing in.

Hearts need a win at the Stade Modibo Keita on Friday to make the reverse fixture against Djoliba in Accra on May 3^. Kweku Andoh claims He and his team-mates will not allow the issues of an inclement weather affect their performance against the Malian outfit.

GAME BOY FIT TO FACE FILIPINO BOXER ON APRIL 24

CEO of Baby Jet Promotions, Samuel Anim Addo has revealed to Starr FM Sports that doctors has declared  their boxer Emmanuel “the Game Boy” Tagoe fit to return the ring and face Joebert Delos Reyes on April 24.

The WBA international Lightweight Championship contest between the Ghanaian and Filipino Boxer was originally fixed for March 27 but had to be postponed because Game boy had fallen ill.
